PROFESSOR, DEAN SCHOOL FOR HOME SCIENCE
As a Dean, School for Home Science in Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (A Central University), Lucknow for more than 12 years. I have been instrumental in adoption of 06 villages of vicinity, viz. Chandraval, bijnor, bijlipassi, Dhanwasand, Garhi etc. for community works since 2013. Also as a Nodal Officer of the University for Community Development and conducted courses for the community. I visited the adopted villages several times to educate the villagers, especially the women and girls on hygiene, nutrition, combating anemia etc. Celebration of nutrition week, breast feeding week, immunization week etc. are also conducted by the nominee along with her students in the above villages and other places as a part of awareness camping in a view to improve the rural health condition.

As a professor with a teaching experience of over 28 years of teaching of university students, an avid researcher, an academician who always tried to integrate the society with the academics and research, Prof. Sunita Mishra is an academician par excellence, who has contributed immensely to the field of Food and Nutrition through her books, research papers and other publications. Became a popular name in the field of Food and Nutrition and Community Science not only in India but made a name for herself in International arena.

1. Life Time Achievement Award-2018 by Society for Recent Development in Agriculture in the 2nd Global Meet on Science and Technology for ensuring quality (International Seminar) life held at Bali (Indonesia) 13-17 November, 2018.
2. Awarded by Neal D. Barnard Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine Washington DC (2015) U.S.A. (www.pcrm.org)
3. Awarded Edward via Research Recognition Award on 5th annual Day by Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicines, Blacksburg, Virginia, USA on 3rd October, 2008. The award carried a citation and research grant of US $500, the award was given away by the Nobel Laureate of Medicine (2007) Prof. Olivier Smithies.
4. Awarded by Rama Devi Women’s University, Bhubaneswar for “Life time achievement in the field of Education” in its Golden Jubilee Celebration 2015.
5. Awarded “Griha Vigyan Visharad” award by Kashi Vidwat Parishad, Varanasi in recognition of my contribution to the field of Home Science on 25thdecember, 2008.
6. Awarded “Shiksha-Ratna Samman” by Pratik Sansthan, Varanasi for contribution to the field of Education in 2004.

Twenty-two books have been authored by me so far on Community Science and 286 research papers of repute have been published.
